The Bat and the Weasel

A Bat who fell upon the ground and was caught by a Weasel plead to be spared his life. The Weasel refused, saying that he was by nature the enemy of all birds. The Bat assured him that he was not a bird, but a mouse, and thus was set free. Shortly afterwards the Bat again fell to the ground and was caught by another Weasel,whom he likewise entreated not to eat him. The Weasel said that he had a special hostility to mice. The Bat assured him that he was not a mouse, but a bat, and thus a second time escaped.

ค้างคาวและวีเซิล

ค้างคาวที่ลดลงตามพื้นและถูกจับโดยวีเซิล ขอร้องให้ไว้ชีวิตของเขา พังพอนปฎิเสธ บอกว่าเขาเป็นศัตรูธรรมชาติของนกทั้งหมด ค้างคาวเขามั่นใจว่าเขาไม่ได้เป็นนก แต่เป็นหนู ดังนั้นจึงได้เป็นอิสระ นานเข้าภายหลังจากนั้นค้างคาวตกลงมาที่พื้นอีกครั้ง และถูกจับโดยวีพังพอนตัวอื่น, ซึ่งเขาก็ออดอ้อนเช่นเดียวกันให้ไม่กินเขา พังพอนกล่าวว่าเขาเป็นศัตรูกับหนู ค้างคาวก็มั่นใจว่าเขาไม่ได้หนู แต่ เป็นค้างคาว และดังนั้นจึงได้หนีครั้งที่สอง

The Monkey and the Camel

The beasts of the forest gave a splendid entertainment at which the Monkey stood up and danced. Having vastly delighted the assembly, he sat down amidst universal applause. The Camel, envious of the praises bestowed on the Monkey and desiring to divert to himself the favor of the guests, proposed to stand up in his turn and dance for their amusement. He moved about in so utterly ridiculous a manner that the Beasts, in a fit of indignation, set upon him with clubs and drove him out of the assembly.

เรื่อง อูฐกับลิง

ในงานเลี้ยงรื่นเริงของบรรดาสารพัดสัตว์นั้น สัตว์ต่างๆนั้น พากันลุกขึ้นมาเต้นรำอวดเพื่อนๆ ด้วยทาทางแปลกๆเป็นที่สนุกสนาน พวกลิงก็ออกมาโชว์ลีลาท่าเต้น เหล่าผู้ร่วมงานก็พากันปรบมือชื่นชอบเป็นการใหญ่ เมื่อเห็นท่าทางกระโดดโลดเต้นอย่างคล่องแคล่วว่องไวของพวกลิงที่โดดเด่นกว่าสัตว์ตัวอื่นๆ ในงานนั้นมีอูฐอยู่ตัวหนึ่งซึ่งมาร่วมสังสรรค์ด้วย อูฐเห็นลิงเต้นจนเป็นที่ฮือฮาของเพื่อนๆ จึงคิดว่าตนเองก็สามารถเต้นโชว์ให้เพื่อนพ้องน้องพี่ชื่นชอบได้เช่นกัน เมื่อคิดดังนั้นอูฐก็ลุกขึ้นมาเต้นกลางงานบ้าง แต่ว่ารูปร่างอันใหญ่โตเทอะทะจึงทำให้มันเต้นอย่างเงอะงะงุ่มง่าม จนเพื่อนๆต้องพากันหยิบท่อนไม้และก้อนหินมาขว้างปาเพื่อไล่ให้มันออกไปจากงาน ด้วยเพราะรำคาญจนหมดสนุกกันไปทั่วๆ
